Chicken Casserole and Dumplings
If you fancy a really hearty and comforting classic, try making our Chicken Casserole with Dumplings. It’s made from tender pieces of chicken breast braised in rich savoury gravy, with a medley of carrots, swede and sliced leeks and served with dumplings.
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan. Add the onion, swede, leek and carrot, stir and fry gently for 2 minutes
- Add the garlic, tomato puree and salt and stir to combine
- Add the chicken stock and simmer for 5 minutes
- Add the chicken and poach gently for a couple of minutes
- In a mixing bowl combine the suet, flour and water to form a dough and roll into balls
- Spoon the casserole mix into a earthenware bowl and top with the dumplings
- Cook in the oven for 25-30 minutes

- Low Fat Vegetarian Suet
- Self Raising Flour
